If Looks Could Thrill

October 31, 2011 in Dancing

It’s close to midnight….

….and we danced to Michael Jackson’s legendary Thriller alongside over 400 ghoulish dancers on October 29, 2011.  Thrill the World (TTW) is an annual worldwide simultaneous Thriller dance for world records, as well as a tribute to the great and late Michael Jackson. The Vancouver event was also a charity event for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. There was no way we were going to miss this experience.

TTW’s 6 minute choreography was relatively easy to learn, thanks to the great online tutorial dance videos provided by TTW organizers. Our 9 person Thriller army, “If Looks Could Thrill”, met on a few occasions in our home to rehearse the choreography. Good times were had at the rehearsals, and we admittedly worked up a good sweat doing it.

Surprisingly, our girls weren’t too scared of our zombie makeup on the day of the event. In fact, I’ve been catching Malaya pretending to be a zombie every now and then, while performing the zombie march that she picked up from watching us.

Below is a video of the 434 dancers who participated that night. You can catch brief glimpses of Jerrick and I behind the zombie bride in white.

Wishing you a safe and thrilling Halloween!
